We know times are hard for everyone, but if you can spare even a small amount to help the otters we will be very grateful. No amount is too small, as it could buy a fish for an otter.
Financial support isn’t all we need as there are many other ways in which you can help. See below for some ideas!
The International Otter Survival Fund is a global organisation working to conserve otters worldwide by helping to support scientists and others in practical conservation such as rescue, rehabilitation, education, research, reduction of the trade in live animals/pelts and cruel practices (trapping).
Otters are special animals and we need special people to help.
An otter cub costs about £1,600 to rear so that it can go back to the wild, including food, vet bills, bedding etc. They stay with their mother for 12-15 months so must stay in IOSF care until the same age – if we release them too early they will not survive and this is why costs are so high.
By adopting one of our otters you are helping to provide the care, food and vet treatment for that otter, until it is released into the wild. We have to keep human contact to a minimum so, unfortunately, we can't have visitors to the sanctuary, but you have the knowledge that you personally are helping to look after this animal.
Your donation can be used to support projects in the UK and worldwide:
in education
otter rescue and rehabilitation
training of future otter workers
practical conservation and habitat restoration work
