During July 2007, Peggy Faranda of PAWS (the Progressive Animal Welfare Society, Washington, USA) informed us that they had received a young American River Otter into their care.

The cub is female and was being raised by another wildlife rehabilitator, but as they could not provide adequate outdoor enclosure space, the cub was transferred to PAWS.  It is hoped that another River Otter in rehabilitation can be located so that this young cub can have a buddy while being looked after.

Grace from IOSF, has previously worked with Peggy in assisting PAWS with the rehabilitation of young otters.
