 Southern river otter (Lontra provocax)

This is a mainly freshwater species and found only in the southern parts of Chile and western Argentina, although in Chile it does also feed in the marine environment.  This otter lives in rivers, lakes and lagoons within dense forests. Its diet diet consists of fresh water crustaceans, fish, bivalves and it will even take birds.
